Neighborhood Stabilization
Program
Trumbull County entered into a grant agreement with the State of Ohio in June 2009 to carry out demolitions and residential development activities through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program administered by the Ohio Department of Development.
Trumbull County is in the process of identifying dilapidated structures for demolition throughout Trumbull County. Our office is coordinating the identification of these structures with local township trustees and zoning officials. Trumbull County intends to demolish approximately 100 dilapidated residential structures over the next year. Please contact your local zoning official regarding selected properties.
Trumbull County is also working on several residential development activities including projects being developed with the Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority and Habitat for Humanity to create affordable housing opportunities for low-income persons interested in renting and buying affordable homes. Trumbull County is also working with Coleman Professional Services in order to develop a Transitional Housing Facility for at-risk youth.
Other requirements/provisions of the program include mandatory homebuyer counseling and available down-payment assistance. Please contact our office at 330-675-2480 if you have any questions or need additional information.
In addition to Trumbull County, the City of Warren Community Development Office is also carrying out similar activities for the city. You can contact the Warren Community Development Office at 330-841-2595 for more information on activities being carried out within Warren City limits.
